Archanai அர்ச்சனை

A short offering made in your name. The priest recites the names of the deity with flowers, and asks for your name and birth star if you know it.

Abhishekam அபிஷேகம்

The ritual bathing of the deity with water, milk, sandal paste and other offerings, performed by the temple priests at set times.

Homam ஹோமம்

A fire ritual. Offerings are made into a consecrated fire while mantras are recited, for a stated purpose, led by qualified priests.

Life-event rites

Rites that mark a stage of life, such as the sixtieth-birthday ceremony traditionally held at Thirukadaiyur.

Festival pujas

Worship tied to the temple calendar, such as Karthigai Deepam at Tiruvannamalai. Dates follow each temple's own announcement.
